Honda has revealed its sportiest car ever. The 2016 Honda Civic Concept was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, and it defied all expectations. The concept was revealed in advance of the brand’s launch of its all-new 10th-Generation Civic models, coming our way this fall.

The Civic Concept will serve as the inspiration for the brand’s new lineup, which will include the Civic sedan, scheduled to arrive in showrooms this fall, followed by a Civic coupe, a five-door hatchback by 2016, and a Civic Type-R performance hatchback within two years.

“The new Civic will be, flat out, the most dynamic, the most technologically advanced and the most refined and stylish Civic we’ve ever made,” said John Mendel, executive vice president, Automobile Division, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. in a statement. “In every way, this will be an epic Civic.”

The new Civic is part of a broader effort to help Honda to get back to its roots. The Civic will help the brand to re-establish itself as a leader in performance, safety, quality, and technology. The next-generation Civic will also be the first U.S. model to feature Honda’s new VTEC® Turbo engines (part of Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology™ powertrain lineup).

“Charismatic, connected and athletic, our goal was to create a design that is emotional and sporty yet with a sense of timelessness and simplicity,” said Guy Melville-Brown, Exterior Design Leader of the Civic concept, Honda R&D Americas, Inc. “In this we set out to create a vehicle that goes beyond the superficial and embraces the very philosophy of what a true Civic should be; it’s a real game changer.”

Look for the all-new Civic to be available at Terry Lee Honda this fall!
