The newest Honda Civic Type R has been earning quite the reputation, and rightfully so. It’s recently been given the Scottish Car of the Year Award.

The members of the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers give out the 2015 Scottish Car of the Year Awards. Based on the Honda Civic Type R’s unbeatable performance, handling, design, and quality, the judges gave the Hot Hatch the title.

“We are very proud of what we have achieved with the Civic Type R, particularly as it’s built here in the UK. Seeing the car being recognised by industry experts is very rewarding, and I’m confident that we’ll need a bigger awards cabinet pretty soon,” said Philip Crossman, Managing Director of Honda (UK).

The Honda Civic Type R packs a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that tops the front wheel drive hot hatch segment by a long shot. The most powerful Type R engine ever created, it puts out 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.

We get jealous every time we hear about how amazing the newest Honda Civic Type R is. Just a couple of years, and we should expect to see our own Civic Type R!
